Laplink issues another statement re: PCMover

I received another statement from Laplink this morning about their PCMover product. It seems they have backpedaled and are now saying the product will work after Oct 15, but must be installed by then.

Dear Laplink Customer,

My apologies.

The email I sent you on September 20 was intended to clarify our PCmover promotion. But based on customer feedback, it is clear to me I communicated this very poorly.

As a result, some of our customers still mistakenly believe our free PCmover offer is for a limited-time, trial or “crippled” product. This is not the case. The PCmover product available to you at no-charge is a full version that must be installed and registered before October 15, 2005, but it can be used at any point in the future. It does not expire.

For example, if you don’t intend to move your files, setting and applications from an old PC to a new one right away, you can simply install and register PCmover by October 15, and then use PCmover at any time you choose. Once the serial number has been entered on your PC, it is a full-featured product with no expiration date or feature limitation.

Our commitment to customers is a priority at Laplink and when situations like this occur we work very hard to resolve them promptly.

I am confident that PCmover will meet your expectations. We are working hard for complete customer satisfaction and appreciate your understanding of this miscommunication. I encourage you to let a colleague know that the English full-version is available at no charge at www.laplink.com/FreeLaplinkPCmover; and French, Spanish, German, or Italian versions can be requested by emailing CorpSales@laplink.com.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let me know and I will do my best to help.

Again, I am sorry for any inconvenience I have caused you.

Sincerely,

Amanda Marcus
