The company I work for has been using Novell 4.11 for a long time. It might be old, but it works great. After all these years, Microsoft still doesn’t have Active Directory working as easily as NDS (in my opinion).
Anyway, we are finally migrating to Active Directory, and one of the big challenges is login scripts. Novell 4.11 had an easy way to setup login scripts, but Active Directory is much more complicated. I know there are 3rd party utilities that will do things, but why pay if you don’t have to?! There are lots of resources on the Internet to help with developing login scripts, but one of the best is from Richard L. Mueller, a Microsoft MVP. He has a “free code” page that includes a bunch of login script samples that look like they are a great place to start.
