As digital cameras become more popular, people are looking for more creative
ways to share their photos.
MySlideShow 2.3 by Anix Software
is a small program that will output a selection of images in a variety of ways.
Creating a computer slideshow, screen saver or movie is very simple with the
easy to use software.
The Interface
The MySlideShow window consists of four panes.
- Folders Pane
This pane, similiar to the folders pain of Windows Explorer shows a listing
of drives and folders on your computer.
- File List
When a folder is selected from the folders pane, the file list pane shows
thumbnails of all the images in that folder
- Preview Pane
The preview pane shows a larger image of any file selected in the file
list. This is helpful when deciding between two images. You can also right
click on a file and choose the preview option to see a full size preview of
the images.
- Slide List
The slide list is the last pane of MySlideShow, and the pane where your slide
show will be set up. From this pane slide order, slide image, caption or informational
text can be added, slide rotation and music can all be added or modified.
Creating a Slide Show
Creating an attractive slide show is very easy. Begin by following the panes.
First, pick a folder where you have images stored using the folders pane. Next,
select a file in the file list (the preview pane will then show this file).
If you are happy with the file, double click that file in the file list and
it will appear in the slide list.
Once an image is in the slide list, further options are available. Captions
may be added to the slide. These captions will appear on the slide in the location
you choose as the slide show plays; a nice way to document what is being shown.
If the slide is upside down or on it's side, it is very easy to rotate the image
from within MySlideShow using the rotation feature in the slide list. Additionally,
music can be played with a slide. The options are available either within the
window or from the pop up window when you right click on a slide.
MySlideShow 2.3 offers over 30 different transitions that add a professional
touch to your slide show The transitions were very smooth unlike some other
products that have more jumpy transitions. The effects window provides a preview
of the transition along with options to randomly pick a transition, and the
length of time the transition will take to complete.
Once the slide show is done, several output options are available.
- Screen Saver
- Web Album
- CD Slide show
- MPEG Movie

The screen saver option produces a screen saver .EXE file, but does not have
any screen saver options including one for muting the sound. The web album and
CD Slide Show (which does not have to be burned to CD to be used) both work
as expected. Finally, the MPEG movie generator (an optional free download) worked
well, however, it will require about 10 MB of disk space for every 1 minute
of video for your slide show.
