WWW. Smileys & Acronyms

I don't play around much on the Internet. I usually check my email, work on my web site, and maybe check out a few news sites, but that is about it. I'm not really up on some of the cute things. I think "smileys" and acronyms fit into this category. People seem to just love this. Not only are they cute, but sometimes they can save you a lot of time if you aren't good at typing. Smileys and acronyms can quickly express your mood and your tone. I get email every day with things like this in them:

LOL Laugh out loud
G Grin
IMHO In my humble opinion

I have to be honest with you... it took me several months before I figured out what LOL means. But now, with the WWW. Smileys & Acronyms book from Making Contact I know what these and approximately 100 other acronyms mean.

How about these smileys:

:-)
Classic smile
;-)
Wink
8-)
Person with Glasses
:<=
Walrus

Did you get those. The book contains around 600 different smileys.

As I said above, I'm not really up on all of these little things, but everyone I showed this book too thought it was great. They all knew people who either needed it (to figure out what something meant), or they wanted to try some themselves. I think if you give it a try, you'll be hooked too.
