Opening Thoughts
The PCIN family keeps growing. Long-time subscriber Silvan Kuipers and his
wife Bianca welcomed their little girl Lindsey Mae into the world. And then
this past Sunday, APril 27, my brother Jeff and his wife Evy welcomed their

The NEWS
Monster.com's resume purge draws fire
"Job-hunters at Monster.com who happened to go to school in Syria or
Iran may be in for an unpleasant surprise on Thursday.
So might employers that use the popular job-search site, which boasts more
than 800,000 job postings, to advertise open positions in Sudan, Myanmar
and five other countries.
In a move the company claims is designed to comply with federal regulations,
Monster on Thursday will delete most references to those countries from job
postings and résumés. A note that Monster sent to affected
users says: 'Your résumé will be altered, removing all sanctioned
countries from your résumé.'"

Court won't take Internet-era case
"The Supreme Court refused Monday to consider an Internet-era case
that asked which courts should handle lawsuits against people for information
they put on the World Wide Web. The question keeps coming up as more operators
of Internet sites are taken to court for things like defamation or invasion
of privacy."

Entertainment Industry Loses in Web Case
"In a huge setback to the big record and movie companies, a federal
judge in Los Angeles ruled in favor of two online services that allow people
to share music, movies and other digital files freely over the Internet.
The decision puts the brakes on the momentum the entertainment industry had
previously enjoyed in its legal efforts to block file-swapping services,
which have made it easy for consumers to acquire copyrighted material free."

EBay maps big expansion
"Fast-growing eBay on Wednesday unveiled a major real estate expansion
plan that includes creating a North San Jose campus and possible redesign
of its West San Jose headquarters.
The plan calls for the online auction firm to purchase the land and five
buildings on a North San Jose site owned by software company Novell for an
undisclosed price. The complex now has 511,000 square feet of office space
and comes with rights to build an additional 330,000 square feet.
Key to the deal are plans for eBay to receive development rights from the
city that would allow the company to eventually have a 2 million-square-foot
campus in North San Jose."

Question
Hi, I recently used the 'msconfig' utility on my computer to access 'selective
start-up' but now I seem to be stuck with it and after clicking on 'Normal
start-up' and then restarting as instructed I find that I am still in 'Selective
start-up' mode. Can you tell me how to get the computer to take notice and
do 'Normal start-up'?

Organize Your Favourites
Subscriber and co-worker Pat Clary mentioned reading a tip in a computer
magazines he gets. If you've ever tried to organize your favourites from
within Internet Explorer, it can be a pain. But remember that the Favourites
folder is just that, a regular folder on your computer. When you bookmark
a site you are creating a shortcut to the web site and placing it in that
folder.
A good way to organize the favourites is to open up the Favourites folder
in Windows Explorer and then drag and drop them where you want them. You
can also view thumbnails of the pages.
Open Images in IE 5
Internet Explorer has the ability to view some image formats. If you are
trying to view an image and it won't open up in Paint or another program
you have, you can always try Internet Explorer. You can open Internet Explorer,
and then drag the file onto it. If it can, it will display the image.
